A Family Dream, Shared With You
What began as a place for our own family to slow down and reconnect has grown into a private Lake Martin retreat where couples, families, and friends can do the same.
A Place Close to Our Hearts
We are Andrew and Laura Riley, Auburn University graduates and parents of three. Andrew grew up spending time at Lake Martin, and both Auburn and the lake have long been part of our family’s story. We wanted to create a place where we could step away from busy schedules, spend meaningful time with our children, and enjoy the beauty of these two places we love.
The Dome Takes Shape
Our original 22-acre property gave us the privacy and wooded setting we were searching for. At its center, we built a spacious 36-foot geodesic dome with a 20-foot picture window that makes the trees feel like part of the room. We filled it with the comforts our own family appreciates: a full kitchen, comfortable beds, a spa-style shower with wall jets, games, a fire pit, an outdoor shower, and a private hot tub beneath the trees.
As the retreat came together, we realized it was too special to keep to ourselves. We decided to welcome other families, couples, and friends looking for a place to slow down, reconnect, and make lasting memories.
Growing With the Dream
Auburn Glamping has continued to grow along with our family’s dream. We added a welcoming deck at the front of the dome, built a bridge over the creek, and planted an orchard that will become another special part of the property for years to come.
We also added four adjoining acres that connect the retreat to Lake Martin, bringing the property to 26 private acres and giving guests access to 300 feet of waterfront. These additions have made it easier to enjoy the land, reach the lake, and create the kind of stay we would want for ourselves—from soft sheets and quiet mornings to kayaking, family games, and unhurried evenings around the fire.
